"Young and Old"
An autumn leaf from a tulip tree laying on a decaying log in the woods. The tulip tree, also known as the yellow poplar, is known for having a tall, straight trunk which used to be used for the masts of sailing ships.

A snow covered stump in a field. The stump has been here for many years and is very weathered. I took this after sunset, hence the long exposure. Adjusted levels to make the snow white. Some sharpening and cropping.

Full frame shot taken in the woods behind my house. There weren't many leaves left on the trees at the time. The ones on the ground make an interesting background when out of focus.
